Finding & Treating Pain
When we examine patients we are looking to eliminate their pain. Pain is mediated by the nervous system, so in our clinic we conduct very thorough tests to see which tissues are sending the pain signals.
We start with Surface Electromyography (S.E.M.G), which monitors the neurology of the nerve flow to muscle from the spine and it gives us a printout of that patient. We then do a very thorough objective clinical evaluation to see which tissues are involved, such as muscle, joint, disc, etc. or a combination of these.
After we have a set of clinical findings as to which tissues the neurology is involved in causing pain, we put together a treatment plan. All our techniques impact the neurology and this is how we can give good results. We use either Activator instrument adjusting plus Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, or a combination of both.
Your treatment is based on our objective clinical findings – we address those tissues that we find involved in causing your pain. This improves your subjective symptoms so that you feel better and you can then do the things in your life that you have been restricted from doing. With pain management you improve your quality of life.
Activator and Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression helps with problems including:
-
Disc herniation
-
Low back pain
-
Neck pain
-
Degenerative disc disease
-
and more

What to Expect on Your First Visit
On your first visit to Taylor Wellness & Chiropractic, we will review any documentation that you bring. You will have a consultation to review your medical history, all current symptoms and how your quality of life is affected. Your Chiropractor will then give you a non-invasive neurological scan or surface electromyography (S.E.M.G.), which receives information from your motor nerves. You will see a pre-scan video for a greater understanding of the procedure. It is not at all invasive. If you are acute and the doctor has all the information they need then relief care may start on this visit.
What to Bring on Your First Visit
Please bring any previous CT scans, MRI or X-ray reports. If you have had other diagnostic tests done you may bring them along as well. Drs Taylor and Cote can also send you for X-rays if needed.
Click on either the new patient Adult Questionnaire or Child Questionnaire to complete for your visit. The Child Questionnaire is for children under 6 years old.
Please note that we have a 24-hour cancellation policy, which if not met, will result in a charge for the visit.
