Read How Spinal Decompression Has Helped These People
Decompression therapy on my back and my neck changed my life. When I first came to the office. I was very sceptical of how this decompression therapy was going to help me. I had to try something. X-rays confirmed the degenerated discs in my back and neck. Surgery for my back was out the question, and taking pain relievers for the arthritis that had set in my neck, arms and hands would become habit forming and more and stronger pills as my system became used to them.
Getting out of bed was difficult task and walking for more than ten minutes was impossible. I saw the ad Dr. Scott Taylor place for decompression therapy. The photo of the and staff was very inviting. Approximately nine months later – I am pain free and doing all the things I used to do, ride my bike, go for long walks – thanks to the caring staff of Lena and Amy who made my visits pleasant, comfortable and thanks to Dr. Scott Taylor.
I was diagnosed in 2013 with Degenerative Disc Disease in my neck. I suffered with acute pain in my neck across the shoulder blades and down into my bi-ceps. I could not turn my head either way because of the pain. I had to turn my torso whichever way I wanted to look. I was told there was no way to reverse this problem. My family doctor recommended physiotherapy. After 10 sessions, my symptoms remained the same.
I then noticed an ad in the paper regarding Spinal Decompression Therapy at Dr. Scott Taylor’s clinic. The ad mentioned treatment for Degenerative Disc Disease. I arranged an appointment for consultation and was very excited that there was hope for my condition.
I went on a 20 session program over 10 weeks. The mobility in my neck is almost back to normal. I can almost turn my neck 90 degrees both ways with no pain or limitations. I can exercise, play golf, and do all chores with no after effects.
I am now on a bi-weekly maintenance program, which takes about 5 minutes, and Dr. Taylor adjusts and activates my neck and spine area to keep everything loose and flexible.
Dr.Taylor, and his ever friendly receptionist Lena, run a very professional and efficient operation. They make you feel comfortable from the first moment you walk into their facility.
I thank them both very much for what they have done to help me going forward. I highly recommend Spinal Decompression Therapy for anyone suffering with Degenerative Disc Disease.
I was experiencing sciatic pain with foot drop. Whether I was sitting, standing or lying down, I was in pain all day and night. I could not find any position that would give me even temporary relief from the burning in my right leg and foot; it felt like a size 9 foot in a size 5 shoe. I had to take a leave of absence from my job because there was no way I could sit behind a desk working on a computer all day. My foot and ankle were so weak I did not dare to even go for a walk with the dog. Grocery shopping became difficult due to how much walking, lifting and carrying is involved. Housework, like cleaning the bathtub and washing the floors, was neglected because I could not safely bend over. The tips of my toes were so sensitive that even a lightweight blanket brushing on them hurt. Most nights I had to sleep alone so my husband could get some rest without being concerned that his leg might touch against mine causing me great discomfort.
My family doctor told me about Spinal Decompression Therapy. He said the MRI results showed that L3 and L4 discs were bulging. He suggested SDT might help, as he handed me a referral slip to Taylor Chiropractic Offices. I did some research and decided to give it a try, even though a good friend told me her husband tried it, (but not at Taylor Chiropractic), and she said SDT didn’t work for him. I learned that not all SDT practitioners are the same, so I suggest you do your research like I did.
I’m so glad I listened to my doctor and not to my friend. For the first 3 weeks I did 3 sessions of SDT a week and the results are amazing. Every day the tension in my foot and toes gets less and less, and the pain in my leg has virtually disappeared. I am moving around much quicker as the muscles in my foot and ankle are getting stronger. I am back to work for 5 hours a day (using a stand up desk and taking frequent stretch breaks). And I can wrap my feet in a blanket and sleep on either side, not just my back anymore. Dr. Taylor also recommended exercises that support a healthy back. I am doing them everyday and they are helping a lot. I am completely hopeful for a full recovery. Until then, the bathtub and floors are my husband’s new chores!
When I started seeing Dr. Taylor a few months ago, I was feeling quite literally dragged down. My body felt like a dead weight and I was having trouble enjoying my usual activities. While walking, I felt as if I couldn’t pick my feet up and I didn’t dare run for fear of stumbling. Jumping rope with my granddaughters, one of my favourite activities, felt impossible–there were days when I couldn’t get my feet off the ground. My shoulders were tense and my headaches were returning. I’d lost my usual vibrancy and had developed a brain fog. I’d been away from chiropractic treatment for a while after moving to Welland and I just wasn’t myself. Thanks to Dr. Taylor I now feel much more vibrant and ‘light on my feet’ again. The fog is lifting and I’m able to think more clearly. What a difference. I am a firm believer in preventative measures when it comes to my health. Investing in chiropractic care has always offered high returns. Just months away from turning 60 I feel as healthy as, or perhaps healthier than, I did in my 30’s. Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for your care and kindness and for making me feel ‘right at home’ when I come for my treatments. And thank you Lena for making each appointment special with your friendly, caring ways.
